It has been almost three years since I started to train with Matt at the "other" two gyms, and it still amazes me that he continuously strives to make the workouts better for his clients. When I say better, I definitely don't mean easier. By better, I mean more efficient workouts for the goals that his clients are striving for whether it be weight loss, increased athletic ability, or to just look great and still be able to enjoy the good things in life once in a while.
As I continue to get busier and work grows more intense, I realize how much the workouts help me not just physically, but how important they are to keep me mentally focused when I am not at the gym. I never deemed myself to be a "personal training guy" because I thought it was too expensive and not really necessary for people who are motivated and athletic in some capacity. I am a busy person who has always taken pride in the fact that I can get more done by 9 a.m. than many people accomplish in their entire day. These super-intense 30-minute workouts are right up my alley! Being in a small group is also far more motivating and fun than flying solo! The BodyLab has a great atmosphere, but I will warn you that this is not for wimps or anyone looking for an easy way out. You will work harder than you ever thought possible! No push-ups on the knees or easier routines because of age or gender. Women who are afraid of building muscle because they think it will make them look heavy miss out on the benefits that weight training provides to their overall health and metabolism. You can also trust me when I tell you that muscle doesn't look anything like fat. Having a trainer who is available 24/7 as a resource, motivator, and someone who is not afraid to hold you accountable is unique. Scheduling is also a breeze for people with busy and unpredictable schedules. Joining the BodyLab is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. Who would have thought at the age of 45 I look and feel better than ever!

The most important thing in life is God and family. I have been able to be disciplined by being home for my family, working hard to support my family and getting to church and various groups that my family and myself are called to. For many years I had focused on this at the cost of my own health. I didn't eat well or work out regularly. I weighed around 245 and was less healthy then I looked. Matt has been a great influence for me. He has helped me focus on my own health and strength without negatively impacting the more important things in life (God and family). It is awesome having this very important dynamic of life back again. I am currently down to 2l8lbs but it is a much leaner 2l8 as I have put on a significant amount of muscle. I have been working out on my own since I was 15 and have always considered myself physically fit. I was always the one who "didn't need a trainer." After several years of injuries and surgeries, I was having a difficult time finding a program that would enable me to lost weight and gain strength. And now, six months later, I've lost 22lbs, 4 dress sizes and I'm stronger that I ever thought possible at my age. It has not been easy, but, Matt's attention to my health and success has gotten me to this point. I'm doing work-outs that I never thought possible, my back hurts less, and my lipid panel (cholesterol) is now normal.
